I love you comment people

So early on I gave up on commenting on blog comments since I had no way of knowing if the folks in question would return to the comments to see if I commented….confused yet? I am.

I want you all to know how loved I feel when I get your comments, how tickled I am when some Brit in Kansas offers a “decent” snot, how moved I am when a widow of someone with ALS reaches out, how warm it makes me feel when friends ( whom I’ve never met) of my parents check in regularly. The Mazel Tov comments rocked!

I don’t know you but I love you all – maybe not enough to go to Kansas, but a lot.

Michelle from the clinic came by yesterday and spent time with a few friends and myself making suggestions about how to “Carla proof” the apartment a bit. She is so cool. Then I was interviewed for another newspaper profile and then I slept a lot. I need to save my strength for Saturday and the big wedding.

Today I went clothes shopping all by myself. I know it doesn’t sound like a big deal
(especially when you consider it was just Shoe Pavilion and Ross Dress for Less) but it was a huge kick for me. I got home, had a nice catnap and then settled into a night of writing music.

My friend Ali calls me “the busiest person with a fatal illness” she knows and our mutual friend Gerry came up with a great James Brown-esque tag based on that: “The busiest dying person in show business.” I like it.

I'd be surprised if you could enjoy reading my comments as much as I enjoy your blog.

It seems I missed out on the chance to glimpse the bare ass of a red haired, "boy crazy" young lady. I'm thoroughly morose!

I got in touch with Lisa... looks like I'll see you at the wedding!

Dear Carla,
I've been reading your blog recently -- something I've only done once before, when my sister and her family went to France last summer. I'm enjoying your commments -- you are funny and brave and have a deep appreciation of your life. It's impressive.
I've been in touch with your mom about twice a month...hard to know how she is doing....but I know you are constantly in her thoughts. I do "Tonglen" for you, a Buddhist meditation practice of compassion. And I send you a big hug. All my best,
Chris Bauman

Hi Carla,

Well after figuring out how to sign in on this blogosphere using my gmail account (didn't remember the name of the account or the password)I think I'm on so I can finally comment. I "check in" with you daily or qod (every other day) as we nurses say in medicalese to see how you're doing. You're brave and courageous soul and like everyone else out there rootin' for you, although I don't believe in miracles, I sure do HOPE one happens for you. I hope to see you in LA at the performance Jeannine hinted at for Sept. And "SNOG" OUT at that wedding! (Snog sounds like a noise a pig would make, doesn't it?!!)

Trying to sign into this BLOGOSPHERE has left me crazed. Too many passwords I can't remember and too many email accounts whose names I can't get straight but FINALLY I think it went through so I could post a response to you instead of sending an email directly to you.

You're an amazing inspiration to all of us and although I don't tend to believe in miracles, the "power of prayer" (what power?), or any mumbo jumbo stuff, I sure HOPE a miracle occurs. I also hope to see you at your possible performance down here in LA that Jeannine hinted about in her last "newsletter." "See you in September?" as the song goes! I hope you have a good "SNOG" at the wedding! Maybe even a SNOG-A-THON with NON-tobacco smelling SNOGSTERS! (Somehow SNOG sounds like it should describe the sound a pig makes!)
