Carla, I hope you have seen John Cleese's eulogy for Graham Chapman, too. Forgive me if you have! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsHk9WC7fnQ

Always one of my favorite moments on film... but you've made me listen VERY CLOSELY to the lyrics. Whatever will I do when you're gone????????

Love ya' always and forever,

This reminded me of a sick joke I heard this week. At first I was a little taken aback, and then I thought to myself, Carla would love this:
"A man gets a call from the staff of a local emergency room, telling him to come right away as his wife has been in an accident. When he arrives, the doctor tells him, 'Your wife is in very serious condition. Eventually she will be able to come home, but life as you knew it is over. You will have to spoon feed her every meal; she will be in bed all the time, but naturally no sex; you will have to change her diapers and keep her hooked up to a breathing machine. She won't be able to communicate with you, and may not be conscious too often. Things could go on like this for many years. And there is no treatment to make it any better." So the man says, "Oh my God, Doctor; are you serious!?" The doc answers, smiling, "Nah, I'm just playin' with ya, man. She died!"
Almost an apt comparison to ALS , except that you get to experience every moment of it yourself. Yippee. We lost my sister a year ago, after a 4 year battle. What you are doing, through the movie, is HUGE! God bless you. Your passing will leave a humongous hole in the universe.
