Hoping your passage into that “great good night” will be infinitely more peaceful – but I hope your last thoughts are something close to “I’m happy! I’m happy!” You have enriched all our lives. Thank you.

Are you wearing your "I'm not dead yet" t-shirt today? Love, Edith

I want to thank-you for your sense of humor. I watched the video with tears in my eyes but it also made me smile. My husband was dx with ALS last July and he, too, is progressing daily and not in a good way. I feel so fucking helpless because I can't even say "it's going to get better." Your blog and your brother's blog has helped me tremendously and for that I am truly grateful. You remind me to lighten up even when I don't want to. THANK-YOU for being so uniquely YOU.

Great, Carla! That's the spirit.

I'm sending you a kiss now, much deeper than the 'real' on Sat. Keep it up!

Many times I have thought of leaving a comment. I am just someone who stumbled onto your blog by accident. You don't know me but I want to thank you for this experience. Permission to feel what's real is what we all need a healthy dose of sometimes. I understand that it's ok to be angry as hell, disappointed, scared and sad when we are faced with the inevitable outcome of EVERY life. But the most important thing is to feel loved through it all. You have been well loved - this is obvious from your many friends and family - and it shows in your incredible journey and outward fearlessness. Thank you. A million times, thank you.

You have made a difference in many lives of people, some you haven't even met. That might not mean much, but it's something. I love your spirit. No other way to say it, you fucking rock.

Carla, I first heard of you when I went with a group to your show at Anna's in June 2008. I had no idea who you were. But after seeing you, I wished you were my BFF! Since then I've followed your blog, saw your documentary, and am one of your biggest fans, maybe. Your blog is intelligent, humorous, insightful, entertaining, though-provoking... I thought it was time I told you how much I enjoy it and think you are an amazing person. Love, Jenny

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I laughed out loud before even playing it (I saw Spamalot at the theatre and drove our seatmates crazy laughing well before the punchlines)!!! Oddly, when I got home last night, husband was surfing the channels and said "Oh, here's something you'll like!" I kid you not, it was this movie and THIS SCENE!! Kismet! I love the "Oh, don't be such a baby" line...I don't know you, but I just love you.

I think it's going to take a cast iron skillet applied lovingly but forcefully to your skull to make you leave this life... and that's not a complaint!

Love ya' furevah,
