Prayer Corner

Many of you have included Allison (my sister-in-love) in your religious or secular prayers and I thank you for that from the bottom of my heart. I now ask you to include Tumurbaatar Sumiya, husband of my new accomplice Soyumba who is taking over the night shift (Mayra and Natta are still with me in the daytime and my friends help on Sundays.)

Tumurbaatar has lymphoma and the young couple has 2 children - a 12 yr old back in Mongolia and a 2 yr old here in the US. She tells me that some days she is hopeful and positive but some days she just can’t believe how unfair life is. “ Good people die young,” she tells me. “This is not fair.” I pull out my boiler-plate line “Do you want to be the one who picks who lives and who dies?” This never works so I should shut up already. Gerry’s response when I asked this was “YES! I DO want to pick and then you don’t die and someone who deserves to does.” I don’t want to pick but I don’t like thinking of people who have little ones being sick. It isn’t fair.

So put a kind thought or word or intention or prayer out there for him and I will do the same.

Carla,

Each time you put a request in your blog I follow from my heart. I have been adding comments anonymously for awhile now...not needing recognition.

I send my white energy to all of you that can use it...you, your family, Alison and Soyubuma and her family (sp?). I continue to believe that you can send healing energy to people you don't know.

Thank you for your insights, wishes, and words.

Overall I would not want to be the one that chooses but I can instantly think of two people that are doing bupkus with their lives and sitting around feeling sorry for themselves that I would gladly make the decision to take them and give that time to anyone that is terminally ill with children; those are people that would give anything to have a few more days, years.....
I may sound callused, but how dare they feel sorry for themselves? It is their choice to be who and what they are, and they are choosing to waste their lives feeling sorry for themselves because they don’t like their job or they don’t have a mate? Really??? Gee, I wonder why….
Life is such a precious gift….. I hate seeing it wasted on people that don’t appreciate that gift and seeing people that do appreciate it getting the short end.
My prayers are with you and your family and friends that deserve to be here.

Oh Carla, there just seems to be so much heartbreak in the world right now, you know?

This community helped me so much through my health crisis, and I thank you so much.

Tumurbaatar is in my prayers, wishing him and Soyumba all the best on this difficult journey. I wish the collective good will of this community could spare them the challenges ahead...

Dear Carla,

Thank you for your bravery & sense of humor, which is inspiring to all. I'm praying for you.

I had the pleasure of taking your Drama 101 course at COM back in 1997, which Josh was a part of. I remember the Monday after he died in the tragic car accident, where you helped us all deal with the passing of our friend. You had us get in a circle, hold hands, and send all our happy thoughts to Josh. It was beautiful and it really helped everyone.

I also remember you telling us the charming story of you & your sun running to buy Prince tickets one morning, as you wore purple. Always great memories the favorite class of everyone in that room.

Those were some of the happiest times of my life, acting in Brown Bag theater with old friends like Greg Zinger, Sean Murphy, etc. wherever they may be now. I want to thank you for being such a wonderful teacher & a positive, vibrant force in so many people's lives.

Best wishes,
Peace and love,
David Sason

Hi Sweet Girl,

Prayers are with your friend's husband. Just a thought about who you are to care so much for others and what they might be facing. Your Dad sent me pictures of Australia....what a wonderful trip for all of you. I look at Mac, such a sweet, young face. Who would imagine the depths to which he aspires.

Blessings to you both,

Love, Pat
